About ART Center

At ART Center, we believe creativity brings people together, inspires imagination, and enriches our community. Located in the heart of Montgomery, Alabama, ART Center is a welcoming space where artists, students, and creative minds of all ages and skill levels can explore their talents, learn new techniques, and discover the joy of artistic expression. Through engaging classes and hands-on experiences in drawing, watercolor painting, acrylic painting, photography, and other creative disciplines, we encourage everyone to embrace their artistic potential. Whether you're picking up a paintbrush for the first time or looking to expand your skills, ART Center offers an inspiring environment to learn, create, and connect.

Conveniently located at 1226 Madison Avenue, next to Southern Art & Makers Collective, we're proud to be part of Montgomery's growing creative community, where art is for everyone.

CLASSES & EVENTS

I am Lloyd Strickland, the President of a local non-profit organization in Montgomery, Alabama called the Artistic Resource Training Center (ART Center). We provide free studio space to artists who want to lead art classes, at no charge to participants, to encourage greater participation in the arts, more specifically drawing, painting, and photography/videography. We encourage local artists to lead these free art classes.

We also encourage artists who may want to charge a fee but are unsure if there will be enough participation to cover space cost, to have an art class without having to worry about attendance required to cover the cost of studio space. If the artist does charge a fee for the class, then the artist remits a percentage of gross income generated from the event to the ART Center.

Easels, drawing horses, tables, and chairs are available. Limited art supplies are available for participants at the no-charge events. However, participants are encouraged to bring their own art supplies. We also encourage participation from primary school students, students with invisible disabilities, and adults with invisible disabilities.

Our mission statement - To promote and advance visual arts education through availability, inclusion, love, and learning.
